Alex Morgan: U.S. star shares FIFA 16 cover with Lionel Messi


She was a World Cup winner with the USWNT and now Alex Morgan is the cover star for FIFA 16.On December 31, 2014, Morgan married her now husband and fellow soccer player Servando Carrasco, a midfielder with MLS team Sporting Kansas City.Morgan is no stranger to the limelight. She has twice appeared in Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Edition. She hopes it encourages confidence in young girls and shows she is proud of the work she has put into building an athletic physique.With the only goal of the game against England in a pre-World Cup friendly, Morgan scored her 50th goal for the U.S. women's team. Only 26, she went on to score once during the U.S.'s victorious campaign in Canada.One of the highlights of Morgan's career came at the London 2012 Olympic Games. The USWNT took the gold medal after defeating Japan 2-1 in the final at London's Wembley Stadium.After a year to remember, Morgan finished third in the FIFA World Player of the Year award in 2012.Throughout her career, Morgan has played with the No. 13 on her back. Far from finding it unlucky, she admits to being amused by the superstition that surrounds it. "I've never seen any unluckiness in this number and it's done great things for me," she insisted.
